Game On! Science, Sports and Play is a bilingual exhibition at the California Science Center that makes the science of athletic performance an engaging, hands-on experience. Built on the mechanics of play, the exhibit transforms sports into interactive experiments. Visitors can test their balance on a surfboard, learn about body angles while climbing, or master neural coordination through dance.
Ravenswood Studio was responsible for the exhibit’s fabrication, interactive development, and graphic printing. Every element is created to activate both the body and the mind. Instead of focusing on competitive outcomes, the interactives offer real-time feedback that fosters adjustment and learning. The exhibition’s goal is to inspire confidence, curiosity, and skill-building, moving away from pass/fail results.
Game On! reveals how science comes alive when visitors are active participants who learn through movement, discovery, and play. The exhibit covers a wide range of sports, from baseball and soccer to yoga and swimming. Scientific concepts like biomechanics, physics, and kinesiology are seamlessly woven into the experience through motion-based activities, environmental design, and clear, effective graphics. Athlete-led video demonstrations provide a mentorship layer, and vibrant murals by LA-based artists along with tributes to local teams connect the experience to its community.
