Services
Our expert artisans at Ravenswood Studio have a range of capabilities in custom fabrication. With over 90 employees in a 100,000-square-foot fully equipped fabrication facility, Ravenswood Studio is large enough to have a complete range of in-house technology resources and the capacity to handle any project’s demanding size, scope, and schedule. And we’re small enough to make every project our most important project.

Project Management
Ravenswood Studio’s project management philosophy is simple—transparent communication. We adhere to schedule and scope, flag and tackle potential challenges, and accommodate the needs and expectations of the project team. Our strategy ensures that your project has a clear, accountable Project Manager and primary point of contact throughout the fabrication and installation process.
Design Assist & Pre-Construction
Through in-depth discussions and reviews of preconstruction drawings and concept designs, Ravenswood Studio can leverage our experience with unique projects to hone in on design intent, exhibit specifications, artifact case requirements, and other key elements to utilize best practices and advocate for project goals. This consultation and alignment ensures a seamless transition from concept to fabrication. Additionally, we apply value engineering principles to assess design concepts against budgetary constraints. We offer ongoing cost estimations to keep the project on budget while maintaining design integrity, meeting content goals, and enhancing guest engagement.

Custom Scenic Fabrication
As a multidimensional team with both creative and technical backgrounds, we offer a diverse range of custom fabrication services. Our skilled fabrication team includes carpenters, metalworkers, scenic painters, sculptors, and many other talented artisans and design engineers. We are equipped to handle all levels of fit and finish and work with a variety of materials commonly used in exhibit fabrication.
Physical & Mechanical Interactive Development
We develop a wide range of interactives, from simple hands-on experiences to complex mechanical and electromechanical systems. A cohesive approach to planning, materials, and technology—centered on visitor engagement—is key to a successful exhibit. Our in-house electronics team specializes in interactive design, sensors, and integrating control motors. We prioritize high quality and reliability, using industry-standard controls and custom-printed circuit boards as needed.

Prototyping & Testing
At Ravenswood Studio, prototyping is a crucial and iterative step in the development process. We design a prototyping plan that addresses key questions about function, visitor engagement, and overall effectiveness using a range of approaches from simple models to detailed mock-ups. This approach allows for early testing and refinement, ultimately leading to more engaging, accessible, and cost-effective exhibits.
Graphic File Preparation & Printing
Ravenswood Studio offers large-format printing services that allow us to produce high-quality graphic solutions in-house, improving project efficiency and costs. Our EcoSolvent roll printer enables us to print custom wallpaper and vibrant vinyl graphics that can be applied to walls and windows or wrapped around dimensional, mountable materials. Our large format UV flatbed printer allows us to print on various materials, including wood, metal, glass, and plastics. The ability to print with white ink means that graphics from this direct-to-surface printer can look bright and color-accurate, no matter what surface it is being printed on.

3D Printing
We utilize state-of-the-art 3D Printing capabilities for rapid prototyping, intricate component production, and the creation of unique and bespoke elements. This technology allows us to explore complex geometries and bring innovative, highly-detailed designs to life, elevating the overall quality and impact of our projects.
